Veteran Entrepreneur Talks About Internet In Vietnam

Brian Peltz, serial digital entrepreneur based in Ho Chi Minh, talks to Thomas Crampton, Global MD, [email protected], about the big changes in internet usage in Vietnam from the early fractional dialogue days.

His view is that Vietnam offers exciting opportunities. It’s a young country packed with early adopters. Use of mobile is high with the current 10 million smartphone users predicted to increase to 20 million by the end of the year.

Vietnam’s domestic brands are winning over the foreign rivals by focussing on the needs of the local market. Peltz launched the number 1 website in Vietnam,, which was the first site to be youth targeted; as well as messaging app, Zalo, a competitor to WeChat and currently the most downloaded app in the country.
